The
Masonry Industry needs your support to pass the
Florida Concrete Masonry Products Research,
Education and Promotion Act
|
As some of you may have heard, the masonry industry
is pursuing a check-off initiative to raise funds
for promotion, education and research. This website
contains information about what a check off program is and is
not. Basically, it is a legislative method for our
industry to legally raise funds whereby all of our
industry participates. It is not a tax going to the
government because all funds come back to our
industry for research, education and promotion.
The Canadian Masonry Industry has had a voluntary
and successful check-off program for the past eight
years. Thiers resulted in market share increases
during the same difficult economic times. Proof that
promotion works!
Both the national and Florida check-off programs are
proceeding on track. However, the Florida program
needs additional funds to keep it moving forward.
The Masonry Association of Florida has contributed
$20,000 to get check-off started. It is estimated
that it will take close to $100,000 to pass this
legislation. This includes costs for a lobbyist, and
related expenses. With the initial $20,000 already
committed, your help is needed to raise the
additional funds.
As a masonry industry stakeholder, contribute
whatever you believe is appropriate to a separate
fund that has been created to get the Florida
Masonry Check-off program passed in the next session
of the Florida legislature. We will begin working
this summer with our lobbyist and visiting
legislators, assuming we can raise funding.
Would you please consider donating
to this very important masonry industry initiative?
It is vital to the expansion and future success of
our industry. |
